We almost didn’t get this family shoot in as the weather was off and on all day. Than the last couple hours of the day, the sun broke out and everything opened up for a picture perfect landscape. Sent Micah a txt and we were off for a family shoot. So far I have had the privilege to do yearly family photos for Micah & Erin and I just love watching their family grow. This is why I continue to do family portraiture. :)
Had a great photo shoot with Steve & Kerri & family back in my home town. She and a friend had a few spots already scouted out and they turned out to be some great backgrounds. A, funny story from the shoot was one of the children told me he could see my eye through my camera lens. Talk about throwing me for a loop for a few seconds. In all my years of doing portraits, that was a first. lol Hope you enjoy the pictures.
Caleb approached me about doing his senior pics. I was very excited about doing these as caleb’s a very creative guy and he does what most seniors don’t – he reenact’s civil war battles. So what better than some pics themed civil war era. We shot these about mid day in the direct sun light to get the old time look. We had a great time getting the pics and he and the family were very happy with the results.
Had a super time with Del & Kristi & the fam. Good friends of mine for a very long time. I’ve had the privilege to do the yearly family pictures for several years now. We themed this session with a large barn & it turned out great. Always good taking pictures with great friends. :)
Some very good friends of mine asked me to take pictures of their children. Now something extra special about the pond picture is this pond is the one that Melissa grew up playing in as a child. To quote she said they would spend about every afternoon around it as children. This meant allot to her having her kids now playing around the same pond. Of course the boys couldn’t resist throwing rocks in every chance they got! :)
Lauren asked me if I would take her senior pics, and I was more than happy too. Lauren’s father had connections with the property owner of a very cool barn. The lighting was too tough to get any shots with the barn in the background, but we were able to get some awesome shots anyways. Along with doing Lauren’s senior pics, we also did family pics. I would have to say that these little guys are my favorite to photograph. Why’s that… well they are my little nephews. My sister had me come out and capture the spirit of these guys as they played out in the yard. I’ll have to say, we had a fun time. :)
I had a wonderful time working with Jonathan & Jackie along with their extended family. They had all meet here in des moines after traveling from their homes in different areas of the us and we all met at grays lake. Talk about a beautiful park & wonderful people, we all had a great session and life long friendships were made.
I did Jessie’s brother’s senior pics a couple years ago, and when Jessie asked me to take hers as well I was very glad. Senior pics are a big deal and every time I take them, I think back to when I took mine. I was able to help Jessie get the pictures just the way she wanted them and we had a great time taking them with her family. Thanks Jessie for choosing me to capture your memories. :)
A buddy asked me to take some pictures of his daughter for her 1 year pics. At this age, everything is new and this was her first time on the beach. Needless to say she had a blast. :)
I have done family pictures for Ryan & Angela for a couple years now. Last year it even grew into an extended family shoot. We always have fun going around to the different parks around Adel trying different shots & we always seem to end up down on the beach for the last few shots. The youngest, Jack makes the whole shoot allot of fun. lol :)
Good long time friends Jeff & Stefani & their children asked me to take their family pics. We headed off to Saylorville Lake and found some great shore line, as well as a small park with lots of green. I just love how the green pops during the spring when the grass is vibrant. Lots of fun!
I met Mark, Sheila & the family at the park here in Adel for a family session. We were able to get some great shots, with the lighting working out perfect due to the areas we were in usually has tough light and is hard to shoot. We all had a great time and I have since enjoyed doing both children’s seniors pics. :-)

Just a little about why I have chosen to take up the amazing
world of photography.
Outdoor session fees are $50 in & around Adel, Ia. & last for one to two hours depending on the size of the family & ages. As of now, I focus my work to the outdoors but can setup a studio inside if required.
I do not sell packages, but instead sell the images individually. Prints range from $7 for a 5×7 to $20 for a 11×14.
